About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Loan Department at our main branch in Tuscaloosa. You will work in an active consumer lending environment to gain knowledge of lending operations, credit reporting, and decision making. This is a paid, part-time position running for 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform data entry for consumer loans.
- Learn to use loan origination and analysis systems.
- Scan and archive records.
- Provide accurate service to members and employees.
- Attend personal development classes.
- Participate in a community service project team.
- Travel to area branches as needed.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based applications.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- A history of community service engagement.
- Reliability regarding punctuality and attendance.
- A desire for personal and professional growth.
- Completed coursework in Finance, Investments, or Personal Financial Management is preferred.
- Experience working with tax returns is preferred.

- Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 25, 2027 to July 30, 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (approximately 37.5 hours per week).
