    About the role#

    AirLife is hiring a Packaging Engineering Co-Op to support packaging improvements, engineering changes, and product line extensions. You will work on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in a part-time capacity. This role involves direct collaboration with the engineering team to ensure our medical device packaging meets high standards for safety and quality.

    What you'll do#

    • Coordinate, prepare, and test various packaging configurations.
    • Assist with design verification and validation activities, including the preparation of shelf-life documentation.
    • Execute packaging engineering product prototyping and testing.
    • Support packaging improvement projects to ensure they meet established timelines.
    • Help maintain compliance with FDA, GMP, and ISO standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment as a sophomore or junior in an engineering bachelor's degree program.
    • Knowledge of packaging design and development processes for medical devices.
    • Familiarity with packaging engineering standards and testing methods.
    • Proficiency with standard computer software and CAD tools, with SolidWorks experience preferred.
    • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
    • Technical writing skills are a plus.
    • Previous experience in a regulated environment like medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or food is preferred.
