About the role#
As an intern with PerforMix Nutrition Systems, you will gain exposure to the programs and services we provide to our customers. This role involves working across multiple areas of our organization, including administration, data analysis, production of dry and liquid supplements, and nutritional consulting. You will work directly with our teams to support the health and nutrition of cattle across the Northwest.
What you'll do#
- Feed Mill: Operate forklifts, move ingredients, pull orders, transfer products in DAX, perform batching procedures, input data into Excel, and collect samples for quality control.
- CES and Maintenance: Set up pump and motor units, assist technicians with troubleshooting, conduct daily feedmill checks, and learn to use Maintenance Connection and Caf Boost equipment.
- Transportation: Learn load sequencing, manage product loading and unloading, study DOT regulations, and complete pre-trip truck inspections.
- Sales and Marketing: Learn our product mix, process customer business applications, understand account setup and pricing, shadow nutritionists to build industry relationships, and learn how to grow a book of business.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in a career within the agriculture industry, specifically animal nutrition.
- Current enrollment in an Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Ag Business, or related degree program within a College of Agriculture is preferred.
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status is preferred.
- Practical, hands-on experience working with livestock in the beef or dairy cattle industries is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- Work is performed on-site at one of our locations in Nampa, Rupert, or Fruitland, Idaho, or in Moses Lake, Washington.
