About the role#
Agri Beef is hiring an intern for our True West Beef facility in Jerome, Idaho. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience across various departments within our beef processing plant. You will work with a diverse management team and gain practical knowledge in your field of study.
What you'll do#
Your work will span several areas of the facility depending on your focus:
- Quality Assurance: Assist with food safety and regulatory programs, conduct audits, and perform validation studies.
- Operations: Gather yield data, validate product standards, and create a library of product-cutting films to document task procedures.
- Wastewater: Collect samples, perform lab testing for process control, and participate in biological nutrient removal studies.
- Maintenance: Learn facility design and HACCP/SQF basics, navigate internal software like Maintenance Connection and SharePoint, and use OEM manuals or PIDs to develop SOPs and maintenance procedures.
- Administration: Gain exposure to HR functions like recruiting and training, or IT tasks such as service desk operations.
What you'll need#
- A genuine interest in a career within the agriculture industry, specifically in a processing plant environment.
- Progress toward a degree in Meat Science, Food Science, Agriculture, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate level student status is preferred.
