About the role#
Agri Beef is seeking students for our feedyard internship program. You will work across various areas of a feedyard, including animal nutrition, cattle health, and yard maintenance. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role. Interns will be placed at one of our locations in Moses Lake or Eltopia, Washington, or American Falls or Parma, Idaho.
What you'll do#
- Operate feed trucks and perform maintenance.
- Process grain and maintain the mill.
- Read feed bunks and assist with commodity management and inventory.
- Use information systems for feed department tasks.
- Process cattle and administer medicine following established protocols.
- Manage the shipping and receiving of cattle, including preparing agendas and lists.
- Track medicine inventory.
- Operate pen cleaning and yard equipment.
- Handle general equipment maintenance and assist with daily scheduling.
- Coordinate with other departments on maintenance activities.
- Complete a final project related to your experience and present it to leadership.
What you'll need#
- An interest in a career path within the cattle feeding industry.
- Current enrollment in a degree program within the College of Agriculture or Business is preferred.
- Hands-on experience working with livestock in the beef or dairy industries is preferred.
