About the role#
This position is for students pursuing a career as a service mechanic. You will balance two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School with on-site work at our dealership. The goal is to build your technical skills and prepare you for a full-time role upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Complete the two-year associate degree program through an accredited John Deere TECH school.
- Work on-site at the dealership to meet required hours.
- Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
- Document diagnostics and repairs on work orders.
- Learn to disassemble, recondition, and remove components.
- Perform pre-delivery set-up and inspections on new equipment.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- An adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain the minimum required GPA.
- Interest in repairing off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
