About the role#
African Communities Together is seeking to sponsor rising third-year law students and recent law graduates for public interest law fellowships starting in Fall 2027. This two-year fellowship position is based in the Maryland office and focuses on projects that align with the organizational mission to support African immigrants. The role offers a salary of $70,000, with potential for negotiation based on experience.
What you'll do#
Fellows will develop and implement projects that respond to emerging community needs and address systemic barriers. Responsibilities include:
- Proposing and executing legal projects that impact African communities.
- Providing direct client services and community education.
- Engaging in advocacy and pro bono involvement.
- Leveraging impact litigation to address inequities and systemic obstacles.
- Developing new service models that center community needs in their design.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising third-year law student or a recent law school graduate.
- Eligibility for fellowship programs such as Skadden or Equal Justice Works.
- A passion for the mission of African Communities Together.
- A strong dedication to advancing social, racial, and economic justice.
- The ability to develop and refine project proposals in collaboration with the organization.

- Location: Silver Spring, Maryland.
