About the role#
This 10-week summer internship takes place within the Sustainable Investment Integration team at Aflac Global Investments. You will work on projects that support our investment and business decisions through data analysis and market research. This role offers exposure to insurance asset management, fixed income, and investment risk management. You will interact with senior management and present your findings to key stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Perform investment market analysis and develop desk models to capture team activities.
- Research, optimize portfolios, and structure large data sets.
- Maintain data sets to identify trends that guide investment decisions.
- Communicate news and data analytics to the team.
- Support the analysis and reporting of company commitments including PRI, CDP, and TCFD.
- Help integrate environmental and social analysis into the investment process.
- Learn and support the responsible investing framework.
- Research industry trends in sustainability.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management departments.
- Deliver written and verbal presentations to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a similar STEM field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- A basic understanding of financial statements.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- A strong interest in investments, finance, asset management, and insurance.
- Eligibility to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to be physically located in the continental U.S. for the duration of the internship.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a hybrid role. You will be expected to report to the New York office for at least 60% of the work week.
- Employment: This is a paid, full-time internship.
