About the role#
Aecon is looking for an estimation intern to join the team for the winter 2027 session. This role provides practical experience in construction project estimation and offers insight into the submission process, cost analysis, and project planning.
What you'll do#
- Support the estimation team with cost analysis and preparation.
- Analyze plans, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform quantity take-offs from technical documents.
- Help evaluate costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Manage price requests from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Compare and analyze received bids.
- Assist in preparing submission files and related documentation.
- Collaborate with estimators and construction teams.
- Update cost databases and estimation tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in estimation, infrastructure projects, and construction.
- Analytical mindset with comfort working with numbers.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluency in French is required, and knowledge of English is an asset.
