About the role#
Aecon is looking for a co-op student to support our project controls team, focusing on risk management. You will work on major projects within our Civil East division in the Greater Montreal area. This role offers the chance to gain practical experience in risk management while contributing to large-scale infrastructure work.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to the project team for project control activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and share risk-related information.
- Assist the risk management director, project managers, and project control analysts with risk analysis, benchmarking, and document management.
- Present findings and results to the project team.
- Analyze historical project risk data.
- Manage and update risk registers.
- Work with different functional groups to provide comparative information, gather feedback on process accuracy, and support continuous improvement.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college program for civil engineering or construction management.
- Understanding of project management, project controls, or cost engineering principles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel.
- Strong performance record and consistent attendance.
- Basic presentation skills.
- Fluency in French and English is an asset.
