About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 semester. The role is designed for a student completing a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration in coordination with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Enrichment Program. You will focus on evaluating the environmental and financial impact of Hospital at Home (H@H) care models compared to traditional acute hospital stays.
What you'll do#
- Complete a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) to measure differences in energy use, supply consumption, transportation emissions, and overall carbon footprint.
- Map end-to-end workflows for inpatient and H@H care to identify operational inefficiencies and carbon hot spots.
- Develop sustainability standards and measurable metrics, such as energy use per patient day, supply utilization, waste generation, and avoided travel emissions.
- Build a financial model to analyze cost differences, resource efficiencies, and potential revenue benefits like improved bed capacity and reduced variable costs.
- Assist with administrative tasks, research projects, data analysis, and the creation of reports and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's track in Medicine, Nursing, MBA, Sustainability, or Health Administration.
- Excellent planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Proficiency in computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, sitting, lifting at least 10 pounds, and pushing supplies on rolling carts.

- This position is on-site and requires work within the Advocate Health footprint.
- Locations: Charlotte, North Carolina; Centre, Alabama; Rome, Georgia; and Macon, Georgia.
- Compensation: $18.85 - $28.30 per hour.
