Retail Pharmacy Intern I/II

About the role#

The Retail Pharmacy Intern I/II role provides support to pharmacy operations under the general supervision of a pharmacist. This is a part-time, on-site position located at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves a rotating schedule that includes evening and weekend hours.

What you'll do#

• Perform pharmacy technician duties including filling medication orders, delivering medications, and compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations.
• Interview patients to obtain medication histories.
• Receive and interpret outpatient prescriptions and enter them into the pharmacy computer system.
• Manage pharmacy clerical duties, including medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain a cooperative work environment.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current enrollment in the 1st year of an accredited College of Pharmacy program.
• Proficiency in computer skills and strong communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
• Required licensure and registrations: Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician registration. Additional requirements include intern registration for NC, SC, GA; licensure for GA (intern) and IL (tech); permit for AL; and certification for SC.
