Surgical Tech Intern

About the role#

This Surgical Tech Internship offers students currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. The position is part-time, requiring one day of work per week. Scheduling is flexible to accommodate classroom and clinical commitments, with shifts available Monday through Friday between 06:30 and 19:00. This role is designed to support students interested in transitioning into a permanent Surgical Tech position post-graduation.

What you'll do#

• Perform preparatory and scrubbing services under the observation of surgical techs, nurses, or surgeons.
• Assist with surgical cases across all specialty areas.
• Maintain a sterile, safe, and efficient operating room environment.
• Utilize aseptic techniques to prepare materials, instruments, and the surgical field.
• Anticipate surgeon needs, pass instruments, and assist with gowning, gloving, and draping.
• Operate and move specialized equipment, including cameras, microscopes, and fracture tables.
• Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Monitor the working condition and sterility of equipment and specialty carts.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited or approved Surgical Technology program.
• One completed clinical rotation may be required for consideration.
• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, and frequent standing, walking, and bending.

• Compensation: $19.00 per hour.
