About the role#
Advanced Energy is looking for undergraduate Electrical Engineering students to join our team in Eden Prairie. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, testing, and implementation of power conversion, control, and measurement solutions. This role offers hands-on experience in product development and engineering analysis within a laboratory environment.
What you'll do#
- Support product development projects as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting prototype hardware.
- Collect, analyze, and document test results.
- Support design verification activities in the laboratory.
- Learn and apply engineering principles to solve technical problems.
- Assist with circuit design and evaluation.
- Participate in modeling and simulation activities.
- Help develop documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Collaborate with engineers across design, manufacturing, and test teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
- Completed coursework in circuits, electronics, signals and systems, power systems, or controls.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Experience with laboratory test equipment, circuit design, and analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools like MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, PSpice, or CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB design is helpful.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, programming languages like C, C++, Python, or serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, or I²C is preferred.
