About the role#
Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery offers an externship for students currently completing Medical Assistant coursework. This role provides hands-on clinical experience in a dermatology practice. You will work on-site and partner with a trainer throughout the duration of your externship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient intake, triage, and vital signs.
- Support providers during dermatologic exams and shadow minor procedures.
- Prepare and clean exam rooms.
- Learn to document patient information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Learn administrative tasks related to clinic reception and medical assistant duties.
- Gain experience in dermatology-specific skills and patient education techniques.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Medical Assistant program that requires externship hours.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism.
- Reliable transportation.
- CPR certification is preferred, or you must be able to obtain it.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Henderson, Nevada.
- This is an on-site, full-time, unpaid externship with rolling start dates.
- We accept students from majors including Nursing, Health Administration, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
