About the role#
The IT Intern supports the Infrastructure Services team at our Plymouth facility. You will work across several core IT areas, including network operations, hosting, field services, and IT service management. This position involves a mix of documentation, data analysis, and project coordination to help improve our operational processes.
What you'll do#
- Document infrastructure processes, knowledge articles, and support standards.
- Gather and analyze data to report on service performance and project status.
- Assist with infrastructure projects like network device inventories, server documentation, and hardware refresh planning.
- Track hardware and device lifecycle data for laptops, desktops, and printers.
- Support endpoint management and SCCM tasks, such as software deployment tracking and inventory validation.
- Help maintain troubleshooting guides and equipment inventories for conference rooms.
- Develop an understanding of threat and vulnerability management practices.
- Organize ITSM information, including incident, request, and change records.
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, network teams, and field services technicians.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, specifically Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to turn technical information into clear, usable content.
- Interest in infrastructure services, including workplace technology and service desk operations.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn IT service management processes.
