About the role#
Adient is hiring Finance Interns for the summer of 2027. These positions provide experience in Finance, Commercial Finance, and Costing within the automotive industry. You will work on-site in Plymouth, Michigan, for a full-time, 40-hour work week.
What you'll do#
- Review engineering bills of materials and organize them for cost development.
- Compare program cost data to identify differences for engineering teams.
- Participate in engineering and manufacturing reviews during the quote development process.
- Support the FY28 standard cost roll process and assist with account reconciliations.
- Review invoices, expenses, and assist with forecasting.
- Perform financial analysis on expenses to identify trends, variances, and unusual items.
- Monitor the financial performance of customer programs, including tracking sales, volume, pricing, and manufacturing costs.
- Analyze program performance to identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Assist with the development of business cases for new and existing programs.
- Participate in ROI, ROS, and investment analysis activities.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and management summaries.
- Use Excel and internal financial systems to improve reporting efficiency.
- Assist with tracking commercial open items and action plans.
- Maintain documentation for pricing, recoveries, and commercial claims.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a 4-year B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
