About the role#
We are looking for Software Engineering Interns to join our team for a 3-month program in Winter 2027. You will work with our engineering group to build and ship features that turn language model capabilities into clinical systems. You will receive mentorship while designing, coding, and releasing software that impacts clinician workflows.
What you'll do#
- Design and build end-to-end features while enhancing existing systems.
- Contribute to agentic LLM workflows, including retrieval pipelines and structured tool use.
- Fix user-facing bugs and perform quality-of-life improvements across backend and frontend systems.
- Use evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, robustness, and clinical reliability.
- Prototype with new models, prompting techniques, and open-source orchestration tools.
- Develop a user-centric mindset by building empathy for the challenges clinicians face.
- Collaborate across product, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams.
- Work one-on-one with teammates within your pod.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a full-time software engineering role in 2027.
- Experience using AI tooling to write, debug, and learn.
- Passion for and understanding of the Abridge mission.
- A curious, adaptable, and proactive mindset.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach to teamwork.
Location & details#
- This is a paid internship at $40 per hour.
- You must be willing to work from our San Francisco (Potrero) office 5 days per week.
- This role is full-time.
