Procurement Specialist Intern

About the role#

The Procurement Specialist Intern will gain practical experience by supporting supply chain operations and procurement projects. This role reports to the Procurement Manager and focuses on data-driven decision-making, vendor management, and process optimization within an industrial manufacturing environment.

What you'll do#

• Perform supply chain and procurement analyses using Excel to evaluate supplier performance, material costs, inventory trends, and sourcing opportunities.
• Solicit and compare vendor quotations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify cost-effective sourcing solutions.
• Conduct supplier and material assessments, including cost analyses, raw material evaluations, and cycle time reviews to identify optimization opportunities.
• Utilize SAP ERP to manage procurement activities, maintain purchasing records, and track supplier data.
• Apply procurement standards and processes to support quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability objectives.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field at an accredited university in the United States.
• Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with team members to convey ideas and share project updates.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
