About the role#
This internship supports the engineering team in the design, development, and improvement of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes. You will work in a high-volume production environment, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical design, automation, and cross-functional problem solving. You will work alongside engineers and production personnel to develop solutions that support operational excellence.
What you'll do#
- Design tooling components for powder compaction and hot forge manufacturing.
- Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and prints for tooling, gaging, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Collaborate with teams to improve manufacturing processes, quality, and productivity.
- Troubleshoot tooling and production issues with engineering and manufacturing staff.
- Support automation projects by assisting in the design and implementation of mechanical systems.
- Participate in engineering reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain engineering documentation and update drawings.
- Follow safety, quality, and engineering standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
- Anticipated graduation date of 2028.
- Experience using CAD software such as Creo Parametric, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks.
- Basic understanding of GD&T concepts and blueprint reading.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
