About the role#
617MediaGroup is hiring a paid intern to join our client service team in Washington, D.C. This is a part-time position requiring at least 20 hours per week. You will support our work with social justice causes and campaigns. The role involves occasional night and weekend availability.
What you'll do#
- Draft media advisories and press releases.
- Develop and maintain media and influencer lists.
- Research awards and speaking opportunities while maintaining a tracking grid.
- Assist account teams with social and digital media initiatives.
- Perform daily news scans, competitive research, and social media monitoring.
- Participate in weekly calls and sit in on media briefings.
- Draft opportunity memos and identify proactive pitching opportunities.
- Prepare press kits, new business mailings, and clip books.
- Handle various administrative duties.
What you'll need#
- Previous internship experience in PR or Marketing.
- Ability to write quickly and creatively.
- Interest in current news and market trends.
- Basic knowledge of digital organizing, including text, email, and social media campaigning.
- A problem-solver mindset and an organized approach to tasks.
- Familiarity with professional photography.
- Valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for work events.
