About the role#
617MediaGroup is hiring a paid intern for our Client Service department. This is a part-time position requiring at least 20 hours per week. You will work on-site in the Greater Boston area. Occasional night and weekend availability is necessary.
What you'll do#
- Draft media advisories and press releases.
- Develop and maintain media and influencer lists.
- Conduct daily news scans and own competitive research, including social media mentions and shares.
- Assist account teams with social and digital media initiatives.
- Identify and lead proactive pitching opportunities for clients.
- Research awards and speaking opportunities while maintaining a tracking grid.
- Sit in on media briefings, draft opportunity memos, and participate in weekly calls.
- Prepare press kits, new business mailings, and clip books.
- Handle administrative duties and gain a thorough understanding of client campaigns.
What you'll need#
- Creative and fast writing skills.
- Prior internship experience in PR or Marketing.
- Basic knowledge of digital organizing, including text, email, and social media campaigning.
- An interest in news, market trends, and professional photography.
- A problem-solver mindset and an organized approach to work.
- A valid driver's license and a purchased or leased automobile for transportation to work events.
