About the role#
Zurn Elkay Water Solutions is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site internship in Lanark, Illinois, offers students the chance to apply their academic knowledge to manufacturing projects. You will work 40 hours per week under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.
What you'll do#
- Map processes to optimize workflow.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
- Redesign and optimize facility layouts.
- Review line balance for assembly lines.
- Perform time studies and develop production standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of sophomore or junior year is strongly preferred.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with AutoCAD is required.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others while remaining self-motivated to complete individual tasks.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $21.50 per hour.
