Part-time Student Worker – Autonomous Driving & New Geofence Expansion

About the role#

Zoox is building a full-stack autonomous mobility solution. The Autonomy Software organization is expanding self-driving capabilities to new geofences, requiring the navigation of increasingly complex and diverse real-world environments. This part-time role supports these expansion efforts by working directly with autonomy engineering teams to develop, test, and analyze the software powering autonomous vehicles.

What you'll do#

• Support development and testing efforts to improve driving performance across new geofences, contributing to the reliability and safety of the autonomous vehicle stack.
• Collect, analyze, and report on autonomous driving data to surface insights that drive engineering decisions.
• Analyze and test autonomy software to identify failure modes and support root cause investigations.
• Create clear, accurate technical documentation to support team knowledge sharing and process consistency.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in C++ with familiarity with software development processes and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
• Ability to work across teams and communicate technical findings clearly to peers and leads.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn in a high-impact engineering environment.
