About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will work alongside senior technicians to develop mechanical skills while gaining experience in the agriculture, construction, and mining industries. This is a part-time, paid position with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines.
- Work on construction and agriculture equipment in a shop setting.
- Respond to customer needs in a timely and supportive manner.
- Learn from experienced technicians in a mentorship-based environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- A record of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- The ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
