About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar is offering a paid internship for students pursuing careers in heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience in a shop environment while learning from senior technicians. This position is part-time and based in Buhl, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Develop mechanical skills by working alongside senior technicians.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction equipment mechanics, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and performing tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- Completion of a drug test, as this role is safety-sensitive.

- Compensation: Starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
