About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior technicians in a shop environment. This role provides an opportunity to develop mechanical skills while supporting the agriculture, construction, and mining industries.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines and construction or agriculture equipment.
- Learn to respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Work in a shop environment while receiving mentorship from experienced technicians.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team member.
- Your own mechanic tool set.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, push or pull up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- Note that this is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug test.

- Location: Crookston, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, rolling term.
- Starting wage: $21.00 per hour.
