About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain experience diagnosing and repairing machinery used in the agriculture, construction, and mining industries while working alongside senior technicians.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction, or agriculture equipment.
- Work in a shop environment.
- Learn directly from senior technicians.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a team player.
- Your own mechanic tool set.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs and push or pull up to 50 lbs.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- This is a part-time, on-site, paid position with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
- The role is safety-sensitive and requires a pre-employment drug test.
- Working conditions include indoor and outdoor environments with potential for loud noise.
