    About the role#

    The NC Civic Fellowship Program offers students the opportunity to contribute to nonpartisan voter engagement projects. Fellows work with teams on campus to ensure students are informed about their rights and empowered to participate in the 2026 elections.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with student teams on nonpartisan civic projects.
    • Educate students on their voting rights and the electoral process.
    • Mobilize students to participate in the 2026 elections.
    • Assist in the planning and execution of voter engagement events.

    What you'll need#

    • A commitment to civic action and community engagement.
    • Ability to educate and mobilize peers effectively.
    • Strong collaborative skills for working within team settings.
    • Current enrollment in a college, university, or community college in North Carolina.
    • Majors in Political Science, Public Health, Communications, Sociology, or Business Administration are preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Durham, North Carolina.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (August 10, 2026, through November 20, 2026).
    • Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
    • Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week.

    About You Can Vote

    Established in 2014 and based in Durham, North Carolina, You Can Vote is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization with a staff of 11 to 50 employees. The entity focuses on civic education and voter mobilization efforts to increase participation in elections across the state. Through community partnerships and a volunteer network, the organization provides information regarding voting rights and assists with voter registration.
