About the role#
As a Community Intern, you will join a six-month development program focused on supporting the local Yelp community. You will work alongside a cohort of peers and receive one-on-one mentorship from a local Community Manager. This role involves building relationships with small business owners and highlighting what makes them unique through events, partnerships, and social media.
What you'll do#
- Plan and execute events, including parties, meet-ups, and happy hours.
- Create and organize social media content to grow channels and increase engagement.
- Maintain local business listings by flagging photos, identifying media alerts, and ensuring business information is accurate.
- Engage with the community through the Yelp app and website.
- Collaborate with your Community Manager to prioritize messaging for your specific market.
What you'll need#
- Current college student or college graduate.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Current residency in San Francisco, CA, with reliable transportation.
- Experience in planning and coordinating events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds without assistance.
- Availability to work 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work.
- Familiarity with local trends and a strong interest in supporting small businesses.

- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour.
