Think Big Intern - Heavy Equipment

About the role#

The Think Big Intern - Heavy Equipment program is a two-year specialized initiative for students pursuing an Associate Degree in Applied Technology. This program alternates every eight weeks between classroom instruction at South Georgia Technical College and paid, on-site internships at a Yancey Bros. Co. branch. Students gain practical experience working with diesel, electronics, and hydraulics. Upon graduation, participants have two years of professional experience and may be eligible to transition into full-time roles in areas such as shop technician, field service, or product support.

What you'll do#

• Maintain a ‘B’ average in all assigned college coursework.
• Maintain a ‘Meets Expectations’ score in conduct, appearance, and work ethic as provided on transcripts.
• Participate in all required safety programs and perform tasks in a safe manner.
• Apply classroom knowledge of diesel, electronics, and hydraulics to real-world equipment maintenance.

What you'll need#

• Meet the admission requirements to attend South Georgia Technical College.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, including the desire and skill to work with mechanical concepts.
• Enjoy hands-on, challenging work and a fast-paced environment.
• Possess good work habits, demonstrated by acceptable grades and attendance in high school.
• Maintain a good moral foundation.
