Think Big Intern - Heavy Equipment

About the role#

The Think Big Intern program is a two-year specialized initiative designed to provide hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance. This is not a summer internship; it is a structured program where participants alternate every eight weeks between South Georgia Technical College and a Yancey Bros. Co. branch. Participants gain practical experience with diesel, electronics, and hydraulics while working toward an Associate Degree in Applied Technology. Upon graduation, participants may have the opportunity to transition into full-time roles in areas such as shop technology, field service, or product support.

What you'll do#

• Maintain a 'B' average in all college coursework.
• Maintain a 'Meets Expectations' rating in conduct, appearance, and work ethic as documented on transcripts.
• Participate in all required safety programs and consistently work in a safe manner.
• Apply classroom learning to real-world mechanical tasks at the branch.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma.
• Ability to meet the admission requirements for South Georgia Technical College.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to work with mechanical concepts.
• Demonstrated interest in hands-on, challenging work.
• Proven work habits, evidenced by acceptable grades and attendance during high school.
