About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Truck Driver Student position for the Fall 2026 term. Participants will undergo professional training to obtain a CDL-A while gaining on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Logistics, Engineering, and Business Administration.
What you'll do#
- Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
- Gain practical experience as an LTL Driver under supervision.
- Perform vehicle inspections as required by section 396.13 of the FMCSR.
- Verify and complete all required documentation and reports.
- Maintain regular contact with service center personnel.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight using a forklift and move converter dollies.
- Operate a tractor-trailer combination under supervision for up to 11 consecutive hours.
What you'll need#
- Minimum age of 21.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- A valid state-issued driver's license held for at least 12 months.
- A CDL-A permit obtained by the first day of class.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug test with no prior positive tests or refusals in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test.
- Must be able to read and speak English to converse with the public and complete official reports.
- Ability to lift freight up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally over 75 lbs.
- Physical ability to climb, reach, bend, squat, and work in various weather conditions.
