Truck Driver Student

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time student position for Summer 2026. The role is based on-site in Chester, Virginia, and is open to students pursuing degrees in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Criminal Justice.

What you'll do#

• Attend training sessions to earn your CDL-A.
• Gain hands-on experience working as an LTL Driver.
• Perform vehicle inspections according to FMCSR requirements.
• Load and unload freight using a forklift as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with DOT and company policies.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain communication with service center staff.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 lbs, operating heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions.

What you'll need#

• Minimum age of 21.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• A valid state-issued driver's license held for at least 12 months.
• Ability to pass a DOT drug test with no positive tests or refusals in the last 3 years.
• Ability to pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to read and speak English to communicate with the public and complete required reports.
