About the role#
Xcimer Energy Corporation is hiring interns for a 12-week program in Denver. You will work alongside an expert mentor to build hardware and software for inertial fusion energy systems. This role focuses on the development of the first commercial fusion energy power plant.
What you'll do#
Your specific tasks depend on your background and interests. You will contribute to projects in these areas:
- Mechanical design and hardware development
- Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element analysis
- Systems and manufacturing engineering
- Electrical engineering, specifically pulsed power
- Control systems engineering
- Computational engineering and software simulations
- Nuclear engineering
- Optical engineering
- Plasma physics
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a related field.
- Experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom through projects, research, or prior work.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fusion energy.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- The location is Denver, Colorado.
- The program duration is 12 weeks.
