About the role#
The Business Development Intern is a three-month, full-time summer position for students interested in a career in sales and business development. This role provides hands-on experience supporting the sales team through research, prospect outreach, and marketing initiatives. You will gain exposure to professional business development practices and contribute to lead generation activities while collaborating with internal teams.
What you'll do#
- Identify potential customers using prospecting databases, social media, and networking tools.
- Support the development and distribution of marketing content that introduces company products and services.
- Coordinate and schedule introductory meetings with prospective customers.
- Participate in collaborative sessions with sales team members to learn about customer needs and sales strategies.
- Conduct research on market trends and competitors.
- Prepare customer presentations and materials.
- Provide general administrative support to the sales team, including updating reports and tracking activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in sales, business development, or marketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A professional attitude and a willingness to learn.
