About the role#
The Actuarial Delivery Group (ADG) at WTW focuses on operational excellence and systems expertise within the North American Retirement business. As an intern, you will contribute to retirement valuation and special projects while learning about various aspects of retirement plans. Please note that this role does not involve the actuarial exam program, and we are looking for candidates who are not interested in pursuing future actuarial exams.
What you'll do#
- Participate and engage in training sessions.
- Perform actuarial valuations and prepare valuation reports.
- Conduct data analysis and reconciliations of pension plan participant data.
- Calculate pension benefits using established spreadsheets or our proprietary plan administration system.
- Prepare government reporting forms and annual employee benefit statements.
- Support special projects as they arise.
- Work with colleagues to ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Respond to requests and communications effectively.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Current enrollment in a program with a heavy quantitative emphasis (at least sophomore standing).
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within client teams.
- Strong client delivery orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without visa sponsorship.
