About the role#
WSP is looking for a full-time Transportation Engineering Intern to join our Eastern PA Transportation team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at our Philadelphia or Exton, Pennsylvania offices. This 12-week program allows you to work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Learn core principles of transportation engineering through training and project tasks.
- Manage project documentation and records.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct, and maintain ethical standards regarding resources and funds.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate, master's, or PhD program with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Interest in transportation engineering, traffic engineering, or roadway design.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- Basic skills in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A commitment to workplace safety and professional policies.
- Preferred: Experience with Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D, along with prior internship or campus leadership experience.
