About the role#
WSP is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern to join the Seattle team for the Summer 2027 program. This full-time, on-site internship provides exposure to real projects while working alongside senior staff. You will gain hands-on experience to enhance your professional aptitude and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to develop technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of transportation engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training tasks.
- Follow the WSP Code of Conduct and related policies.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited Civil Engineering program (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD) with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrated interest in transportation engineering.
- Competent communication skills and the ability to take direction from mentors and managers.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation Inroads, ORD, or Bluebeam is preferred.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.

- Compensation: $19 - $30 per hour.
