About the role#
WSP is hiring a full-time Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This is a 12-week position starting May 17, 2027, though start dates can be flexible. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills. Please note that this role does not provide relocation or housing assistance.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to develop technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of Structural Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training and follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate program for Civil or Structural Engineering.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A track record of upholding workplace safety and company policies.
- Demonstrated interest in the structural engineering field.
- Experience with Revit or structural software like Ram, Risa, or Etabs is preferred.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.
