About the role#
WSP is looking for a Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This is a full-time, paid position based in Los Angeles, California or Atlanta, Georgia. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills. The program lasts 12 weeks and begins on May 17, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Support the preparation of design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training tasks.
- Learn the basic principles of structural engineering.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct, and make responsible decisions regarding project resources.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program for Civil or Structural Engineering.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and structural engineering software like ETABS, RAM, or ENERCALC is preferred.
- Prior leadership experience or previous internships.
- A commitment to workplace safety and company conduct policies.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site in Los Angeles, California or Atlanta, Georgia.
- No relocation or housing assistance is provided.
- Compensation is between $23.90 and $32.22 per hour.
