About the role#
WSP is seeking a Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Generation) Intern to join our Power and Energy Team in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. This is a full-time, 12-week summer internship program beginning May 17th, 2027. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects and participate in our Developing Professionals Network for mentorship and networking.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to build your technical and professional skills.
- Learn basic principles of Mechanical Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, and office software.
- A record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to company health and safety policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.

- Compensation: $23.90 to $31.11 per hour.
