About the role#
WSP is hiring a Lighting Intern for our Boston office. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects and gain experience in professional lighting design.
What you'll do#
- Learn the basic principles of lighting design.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop project work.
- Run basic lighting calculations and analysis.
- Help prepare design documents and select lighting fixtures.
- Complete assigned training tasks.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate program, with a graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A demonstrated interest in lighting and a desire to build your professional skills.
- Competent communication skills and the ability to take direction from mentors and managers.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, and office software.
- A track record of maintaining workplace safety.
- Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, AGi32, and hand drawing, plus prior internship or campus leadership experience.
