About the role#
WSP is hiring a Geotechnical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Dallas or Houston, Texas. You will work alongside senior staff to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real projects. This role includes access to mentorship and networking through the Developing Professionals Network.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to develop your technical and professional skills.
- Learn the core principles of Geotechnical Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training and exercise ethical decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate program in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a graduation date of May 2027 or later.
- Enrollment in a Masters or PhD program with a graduation date of May 2028 or later is preferred.
- Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.
