About the role#
WSP is looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join our team in Saint Louis for the summer of 2027. This full-time, paid internship offers the opportunity to work alongside senior staff on real-world projects. You will participate in our 12-week program, which focuses on developing your technical, social, and ethical engineering skills.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of civil and geotechnical engineering.
- Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design analysis.
- Help prepare cost estimates, special provisions, and final design plans.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Adhere to company policies regarding conduct, resources, and ethics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor or master degree program for civil or geotechnical engineering, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A strong interest in tunneling, trenchless technology, or geotechnical engineering.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- Proficiency in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A commitment to workplace safety and professional conduct.
- Experience or coursework in tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Python, ArcGIS, Bluebeam Revu, or geotechnical software like PLAXIS, LPILE, and GeoStudio is preferred.
- Previous leadership experience or internships are a plus.
- A collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn.
