About the role#
This is a full-time, 12-week internship for Summer 2027. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects within our Earth and Environment team. The program is designed to help you build technical, social, and ethical skills while gaining hands-on professional experience. Travel may be required based on specific project needs.
What you'll do#
- Support various geological engineering tasks to build your technical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of geological engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
- Perform additional duties as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate program in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in the field and a desire to advance your skills.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Competent communication skills and basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A track record of following workplace safety policies.
- Preferred: Enrollment in a Masters or PhD program, prior internship or leadership experience, active participation in professional organizations, or 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
