About the role#
WSP is hiring an Environmental Science Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, 12-week internship designed to provide hands-on experience on real projects while working alongside senior staff. You will receive mentorship and professional development through our Developing Professionals Network. Please note that this position does not offer relocation or housing assistance.
What you'll do#
- Support environmental science tasks to build your technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of environmental science.
- Assist with field data collection, data analysis, and project execution.
- Help collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete required training for assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible decision-making and follow the WSP Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional duties as business needs arise.
- Travel occasionally, depending on the requirements of specific projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, master's, or PhD program in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A proven record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with health and harassment policies.
- Experience with Microsoft and Adobe tools is preferred.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in either Roseville, California or San Francisco, California.
- The program is scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027, though individual start dates may be flexible.
- This is a paid internship.
