About the role#
WSP is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Intern for our Power and Energy team. This position is based in our Overland Park, Kansas office for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to gain hands-on experience and professional development through our 12-week program.
What you'll do#
- Support a variety of engineering tasks to build your technical and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of electrical engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct and safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate program.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong interest in electrical engineering and a desire to advance your skills.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- A proven track record of prioritizing workplace safety.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.
