About the role#
This is a full-time, 12-week internship based in San Diego, California. You will work with the Earth and Environment Team to gain hands-on experience in construction materials engineering and laboratory testing. The role focuses on developing your technical, social, and ethical skills through exposure to real projects and collaboration with senior staff.
What you'll do#
- Learn about engineering materials properties and their application to project design.
- Understand the basic principles of laboratory testing.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete required training for your assigned tasks.
- Follow company policies and adhere to the code of conduct.
- Perform additional duties as business needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, masters, or PhD program in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to follow direction from leadership.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and harassment policies.
- Preference is given to candidates with prior internship experience or campus leadership involvement.
