About the role#
WSP is looking for a full-time Civil Engineering Intern to join our Earth and Environment team in Louisville, Kentucky, for the Summer 2027 term. This 12-week program offers hands-on experience on real projects while working alongside senior staff. You will also have access to our Developing Professionals Network for mentorship and networking.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to develop your technical and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design analysis.
- Help prepare final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training and follow company policies regarding resources and conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD program in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A strong interest in Civil Engineering and a desire to advance your skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A track record of following workplace safety policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.

- This position is based on-site in Louisville, Kentucky.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
